they don't exchange names or information. they only have a mild flirtation. but that chance meeting in the garage stays with each of them. and then they keep running into one another. when they are paired as partners during the prewedding pictures for the wedding they are both in, they give into their attraction.
for a confirmed bachelor like tyler, lanie is the perfect girl. she doesn't do long-term. her job keeps her moving. but tyler finds that he dreads thinking about lanie leaving. he's never felt more in sync with anyone. their relationship is so easy. they are playful and sexy and the easy way they slide into something serious feels just right. so can lanie put down roots? can tyler find a way to have it all?
both of them have some job intrigue that affects the outcome. and one of the reasons their relationship functions so well is that they share so many of the same values. they care about their jobs. they care about their friends and their families. they just have to stop running from something that might truly tie them down. and i love how they navigate this together. i didn't think it would be possible to top kevin and holly, who by the way make some nice appearances in this book, but tyler and lanie might just do it for me.
