i hadn't read the other books in the going down in flames series, but even still burning bright was a fun read, and enjoyable for a first timer to the series. i may not have had all the background on the dragons and the character histories, but i figured out what was going on pretty quickly.
and the story between bryn and jaxon traces the thin line between love and hate. they have completely different world views, but they've also endured loss, broken hearts, and they have to learn to behave as if they are on the same side. because they are.
and they are also navigating family drama and dragon drama, and it's a totally enjoyable read. even for not having read the full series, i can tell you it's an entirely satisfying conclusion.
**burning bright will publish on june 4, 2018. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (entangled teen) in exchange for my honest review.
