seriously romantic: payback by amy daws

in a surprise twist, just when you might have thought the harris brothers were in retirement, amy daws throws a loop and come out with payback. focusing on alice harris, a long-lost american cousin, and roan de walt, booker and tanner's south african bethnal green teammate.

the chemistry between these two is scorching hot. and it's only right that their porn-style raunchy sex is actually caught on video. and you know what they say about the accidental sex tape in the first act...it will come into play by the third.

you'd think that what allie did was unforgivable, but the thing is, roan is like the super dreamiest guy. he is actually not interested in groupies. he's looking for a monogamous relationship. he wants something real and serious with allie. he's all in from the get-go and it's allie who is the hot mess who needs to get her head on straight.

spending time with the harrises is always a delight. and allie and roan are a couple you can root for. but i still like gareth best. just sayin'

**payback will publish on may 16, 2019. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of amy daws in exchange for my honest review. keep reading for more book info...

ABOUT THE BOOK

ALLIE HARRIS WANTS PAYBACK.
Her cheating ex deserves to see her living her best life; a one-night-stand with a hot South African soccer player would be the perfect revenge. Right?

Wrong. Allie is so, so wrong.

ROAN DEWALT HAS ALL THE MOVES.
On and off the field he’s at the top of his game. Roan respects hard-work, dedication—and follow through. He’s not a one and done kind of man, and he’s far from being done with Allie Harris.

One sexy night and two years later, Allie’s job brings her back to town. An opportunity for the perfect replay Roan has been fantasizing about since they slept together.

THE PROBLEM?
Allie Harris has a secret; one she’s been keeping from Roan all this time. Video proof of their one night together—taken without his consent.

Will Allie’s payback plan come back to bite them both? Or can she erase her past mistake and embrace a new future with Roan?

EXCERPT

Roan leans forward and fondles my hands. “Do you think your cousins will kill me if you and I start spending more time together?”

“Time?” I croak, my voice catching in my throat. “In what capacity?”

“In the type of capacity where I buy drinks or food and you drink the drinks or eat the food…Then we kiss at your front door.”

“That sounds like dating.”

He grins at me. “You’re skipping a couple of steps, Lis, but ag, you’ve been a fast mover since the day we met, so I’m into this.”

Have I mentioned how much I love it when he calls me Lis?

I glance down at his drink. “You’ve had one beer with me and you’re already wanting to commit to future time?”

“You forget that I spent the better part of twelve hours with you naked in a hotel room. I’m basing our dating status on more than tonight. Tonight was just the confirmation I needed to make sure that all the fantasies I’ve had about you are built on some semblance of reality.” He winks and downs the rest of his beer in one gulp, his neck contracting in a really attractive way as he does. He wipes the top of his lip and adds loudly, “That and I’ve seen you naked.”

I reach across the table and plant my hand over his mouth. “Will you please stop telling the entire pub that you’ve seen me naked?”

The smile in his eyes is panty-melting. Once I’m certain he’s done humiliating me, I release his mouth and shake my head at him. “Most soccer players would take a one-night stand and never look back.”

He lifts his brows and shrugs. “I’m not like most soccer players.”

simply catching up on all things general hospital

hmmm, it's been months since i've blogged about gh . partly this is due to the fact that i fell behind while i was traveling. partly because all the outrage lapsed into disinterest when i realized i couldn't bring myself to care anymore and everything that was happening was just so trite and boring. some days i still feel that way. and there are still whole storylines that i either hate or just fast forward through. but there are some good things too. in no particular order, here are my thoughts on the goings-on in port charles: 1. soras [and why re-casting roles works on soaps even if you do miss the original actors]: the new, older versions of sonny's kids are turning out to be quite enjoyable. [although hilariously, cameron whom i believe is older than molly is now younger. and because cameron is so cute, i'm kind of hoping they won't fix that. we also haven't seen spencer in ages, so he may be approaching 50.] in any case, at this point we've only s

genre debate: urban fantasy versus epic fantasy: team epic gets their say

Team Epic: Why I Love Epic Fantasy! Since it's my blog, I'll go first: Epic fantasies take you on quests that take you beyond the limits of what is real. The rules can be different, they are different, and everything just matters more. It's not just one life at stake, it's lives, it's a whole world, a whole way of being. Epic fantasies force you to use your imagination and take you on an adventure to places you never thought possible, but as different as everything feels, there are still things that are always real, no matter how you write it. Keep reading to see what a handful of Entangled TEEN authors think about epic fantasies: Erica Cameron - Island of Exiles (The Ryogan Chronicles, #1): Why do I love epic fantasy? It's a blank slate. We can erase all of our preconceived notions of society and law and even science, throwing all of that over the side of a cliff. Epic fantasy lets us push humanity well past the breaking point with ever
